Another eventful week
It's been a week since I posted. But a busy week at that. Bill's hernia surgery was Tuesday the 6th and all went well. We had planned to go to my sisters in Idaho to attend a reunion September 10 that she has been instrumental in organizing, and we did, figuring it was a good way to keep Bill from over-doing. As it turns out he was tired for a few days after surgery and didn't feel like doing anything anyway, so that worked out well. We returned on Saturday, and at 5AM Sunday morning when the dogs and I did our morning constitutional, a kitten announced it's presence under the 5th wheel just as an owl was vocalizing. So for three days we had a 4-5 month old kitten. She was quite accustomed to people and didn't mind the dogs, but a kitten and all the issues involved with one just wasn't going to fit into our lives. I called the Okanogan spay/neuter clinic today to schedule getting her fixed, just in case we were not able to find her owner or offer her up for adoption (as our vet in Okanogan told us that the foster program was flooded with cats and may not be able to take her). My second call was to the Animal Adoption in Omak and they said they could take her on the 24th.
Later this afternoon our neighbor at the top of the hill called and said another neighbor who is building a house had mentioned to him that he was missing one of his barn cats. He had built a barn for his llamas last year, and this year started the house. Within the hour, the owner came by and got her and was so pleased that she had not been taken by a coyote or owl.
On the house front, Bill has been busy working the electrical plan. Many of the boxes are in place though we continue to re-evaluate the placements. This week he will begin pulling wire.
In the meantime, I put up soffit ledger boards and cross-braces for one side of the house garage. Then with Bill's help we got the soffitting in place. Tomorrow I'll do the other side of the garage.
Our trim boards are due in a week or so, and the siding the first week of October. In addition to getting the siding on before the snow flies, we're hoping to get the main floor insulation done after the electrical inspection.

| I gave her a name today: Gracie; only to find out from the owner that her name is Gator because of her white socks (I like Gracie better) |

| In the house today I couldn't find her, then I spotted her snoozing on top of the mattress that we had used when the Orrs were here. |
