Heat break

We did finish the west side 4/12 pitch metal and house wrap on the lower part of the house before heading back to Anacortes on Friday the 29th to get out of the heat (over 100 deg. expected through the weekend).  While home we had good connections with the Orrs and Goldens.  The Orrs overnighted Saturday night at our place, and then Sunday we all met at Denny Beach on Lake Washington near the Orrs' house. We enjoyed watching all of them play on the paddle boards while we kept the dogs company under the canopy.

Back to Twisp on Monday and we brought the Dakota with us. It's been at the mechanics, post engine install, to work out some performance issues that we reported but the mechanics couldn't duplicate. So after a month of them running tests and scratching their heads, we decided to see if the rest (😏) had improved any of the symptoms.  Before Bill got out of town, it died three times when coming to a stop. That was one of the symptoms they were not able to duplicate. Bill will make a call to report it.

This morning we finished the house wrap on the daunting north side gable.  Bill has been studying the transition metal installation for the angle at the 8/12 to 4/12 intersection. Instructions indicate we need another element to be able to get that transition seam done before putting the upper 8/12 panels on. A trip to North Valley Lumber and consultation with their staff resulted in him actually educating them on this particular step and ordering yet another part that will be in next week. Since NVL orders all our materials, it seems they should have been a bit more skookum about this type of metal installation and ordered it all together rather than stringing it out over a month. But it's not like we don't have other stuff to do. So after the south gable house wrap we will be installing windows and doors YAY!

South side gable left to put house wrap on.
